I guess it all depends on how well google can leverage its search application to promote google base.
After all its all about network economies that let google,craigslist or amazon survive and/or prosper.
I can imagine search results for "furniture" showing a list of pricey furniture available at google base on the sidebar, with a "buy now" bang on.
What will happen to ad revenues? I know not. Will people get a chance to click third party ads?
It would be interesting to track how the smart brains at GOOG work out this problem
